Charter Bar Reviews

Hi had the roast beer on day 1 when I arrived which was really good and a large portion. The second day I had a chicken burger which had a curry based breadcrumb. It was quite dry.

Had this reservation booked for my birthday and I was left completely disappointed. Food took an hour to come out after starters had been served. Staff were a little bit lost, there was multiple people serving our table, even offering us a desert menu when dinner had not been served yet. My partners burger came out soggy and just fell apart while eating. The salmon meal was mediocre with the potatoes being served lukewarm. A lot of the furnishings in the restaurant were also stained and just not looking pleasant. Overall not worth the prices charged here.

I had the pleasure of staying in the Midlands hotel portlaise on Wednesday the 25th of March.
We had a three course meal and a couple of drinks on the night in the bar which was absolutely gorgeous and the service was first class and so quick.
The young lady who looked after us was (Nicole). What can i say about her, she was absolutely fantastic, she made us feel very welcome and comfortable straight away and showed so much mature and confidence for such a young lady.
Her manner and personality was second to none and that is the reason why I am writing this review. I just hope the manager of the hotel sees this review and gives (Nicole) and all the staff from the front desk to the people cleaning the rooms the recognition the truely deserve, a great team and a lovely hotel.
I have know problem recommending this hotel to my friends and the general public who will not be disappointed, and I certainly will be staying there again in the near future.

Hi so just checked in and headed to the bar for some food and drink 10 in our group. Have to say I never felt so welcome by the bar man. Litrilly watched him serving 3-4 people at a time effortlessly. Think he said his name was Austin. Also want to mention Natasha who was so lovely. They should be treasured. A great asset to the hotel.

We stayed a night in the Midlands hotel. As part of our package, we got a three course meal included. Good portion sized meals and the food was lovely. Also, the cocktails were nice. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
